THE LIONS CLUB OF BUDLEIGH SALTERTON ANNUAL DUCK RACE
21st September 2008

On Sunday the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club sent 1,000 little yellow ducks down the River Otter to raise £1,000 for local charities. The ducks ‘swam’ from Clamour Bridge to White Bridge taking an hour and a half to complete the journey. It was a lovely day and many people from Budleigh came out to watch the progress. The ducks were helped on their way by several of the Budleigh Lions aided by members of the Budleigh Fire Service.

The event was supported by the Lindsay-Fynn Trust and the Norman Family Charitable Trust.

The prizes were:-

1st prize £200
2nd prize £100
And 4 runner up prizes of an oven ready duck dinner.

The prize winners were:-
1st The Burne family
2nd Don Huish
3rd The Dolphin Café
4th Brenda (No 5 Greenhaven)
5th Simon Manning
6th David Lemon
