In June 2008 a group of volunteers raised a total of £62,000 by undertaking a sponsored walk over 5 days across the mountainous country of the Sierra Nevada.

Nicky Harry personally raised £1350, helped by sponsorship from the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club.

In 2007 the Parkinsons Disease Society spent £4.2M in research into the disease.
